#13 The living room was next

We finished the kitchen late spring '06, and took a rest. Was pretty a intense project, and I needed a break. But we decided the living room had to be the next project. It had been last "decorated" probably in the 80's, and needed help. They had put up a border at the top of the walls, which was peeling off, along with a paper "wainscoting" on the lower walls. The carpet was a very faded light blue-grey, and didn't go with anything we wanted to do. It had a old woodburning insert in the fireplace that didn't meet code. The ceiling was cracked, lousy cheap ceiling fans, and on and on. But we loved the woodwork in the room, and thank goodness noone had painted over it, like they did in the other rooms of the house. Nothing like beautiful woodwork in a house! People that paint over it, need to be just taken out a shot.
